This day spa has also been featured in many international glamour, beauty and health magazines. J. Sisters Salon began in 1987 with seven Brazilian-born sisters. The sisters learned there many bath and body secrets at the family owned salon in Vitoria, Brazil. The sisters range in age from 38 to 51 and began there training in this salon as teenagers. They opened their first New York day spa in 1987. It was at this time that the sisters showed American women what true day at the spa should be like.

The sisters now handle over two hundred clients a day in a townhouse nestled in Vanderbilt at 35 W. 57th St in New York City.

The sisters introduced American women to the Brazilian way of doing a manicure and pedicure. Manicures may take up to one hour, while pedicures frequently run two hours.

There are no quick fix techniques used here, only tried and true professional Brazilian bath and body secrets.

The sisters have also become very famous for their Brazilian Bikini waxes. The sisters state that the bikini wax is a necessity in Brazil, where the bikinis are exceptionally small and waxing has become a part of their culture.

They began offering these services in 1994 and were unsure as to how the procedure would be received. Our celebrities including Sandra Bullock and Gwyneth Paltrow have visited the day spa and braved these services.

The sisters also began offering hair and nail services in 1996.

The J Sisters have a commitment to personal care and grooming. They insist that these services are not a luxury anymore but are more of a necessity.
