Top Tips For Getting The Most Out Of Your Tanning Bed
Today I’m going to tell you some of my most prized tips I use every time I use my tanning bed. These tips can be about safety, about getting a better tan, or little tricks and information that you may not have already known, that will allow you to get more from your tanning bed sessions.
So let’s get started:
My first tip is a simple, yet profound one. You should never use your tanning bed too often each week. Three times it the maximum amount of sessions you should ever have in one week.
Why? Well, apart from the safety risks, if you tan too often… it will actually slow down the tanning process, meaning it will take you longer to get a nice tan! It sounds counter-intuitive, I know. But it’s the truth.
My next tip is about understanding exposure times. You see, it’s not about how much time you spending in the tanning bed that gets you a nice tan, it’s down to the exposure. These are two different things.
You should be able to find out the exposure rating of your tanning bed on the bed itself or in the manual. Generally, if you have a high power tanning bed, then the exposure time is less.
This can sound a little confusing, so let me give you an example. Jack has a 20 minute exposure tanning bed, so he spends 20 minutes per session using the tanning bed. Jill has a 10 minute exposure tanning bed, and therefore uses it for 10 minutes. Both Jack & Jill have BOTH received the same amount of UV exposure, and therefore the same amount of “tanning” has taken place. See?
So now you’re armed with this piece of knowledge, you know it’s better to have a higher exposure tanning bed, because it means you’ll be spending less time using it, and more time enjoying the results. It’s almost much safer, as you want to spend as little time in a tanning bed as possible.
