Re-Defining Your Image
As consumers we often look at fashion magazines, celebrities, and icons to tell us what we should wear and often fail to realize that looking our personal best has nothing to do with glossy magazines, perfect bodies, or excess cash to spend. It has everything to do with knowing yourself, and knowing your body. What you wear is an expression or reflection of your unique personality whether its sophisticated or quirky, daring or shy. Its the reason why no two women can wear a dress the same.
Our appearance is an expression of who we are, and unconsciously gives insight into our thoughts, lifestyle and goals. Take a moment to ask yourself "Is my appearance a reflection of who I am, and where I want to go in life?" If your answer if undefined, you will readily find the answer to this question in your wardrobe. Go to your closet and lay your garments on the bed in plain view, and ask yourself again 'Do these clothes reflect who I truly am, and where I am going in life?"
Separate the clothes into two piles. One pile for yes and the second pile for no. Return the yes pile to your closet, as it will serve as a foundation for your new wardrobe. Take a look at the no pile. Why did you buy these items? Was it on sale? A trend of the moment? Identifying why you bought these items will help you to avoid the same mistakes on future shopping trips.
Bag up the no pile and drop it off at your local charity shop. Not only are you freeing up room in your own life for positive changes, you are also benefiting the life of another as well!
